You may recall a while ago OneDrive allowed you to change the colour of your folders in the web version of OneDrive.
Now the ability to colour folders is live in OneDrive on a Windows 11 device in File Explorer.
Outside of looking cool, This update enables users to assign different colours to their OneDrive folders, making it easier to distinguish, prioritize, and manage their files.
It can greatly improve productivity. By assigning specific colours to various project folders, users can quickly identify and access the files they need, reducing the time spent searching and increasing efficiency. For example, you can colour your work-related folders in blue, personal documents in green, and urgent files in red, creating an easy to explain system that simplifies file navigation and management.
To change the folder colours:
-
Right-click on any folder in OneDrive,
-
select "Properties," and choose the "Customize" tab.
-
From here, you can select the desired colour for your folder.
Feedback on this change from end users has been surprisingly positive, so get out there and change those beige folders, trust me, you wont regret it.
