Verified ID: Verify once, use everywhere
In our everyday lives, we use identity documents like driver’s licenses or passports as convenient and secure ways to prove our identity. However, a comparable digital alternative has been lacking until now. Microsoft Entra Verified ID offers a seamless and secure solution for digitally verifying various facets of our identity, including education, skills, and workplace associations. As fraud rates soar for both businesses and individuals, and with fraud methods evolving, particularly with the rise of generative AI, the significance of robust identity verification has never been more pronounced.
Microsoft Entra Verified ID is based on open standards, enabling organisations to verify the widest variety of credentials using a simple API. Verified ID integrates with some of the leading verification partners to verify identity attributes for individuals (for example, a driver’s license and a liveness match) across 192 countries. Currently, numerous organisations rely on Verified ID to streamline remote user onboarding and mitigate fraud during self-service recovery processes. For instance, Skype achieved a remarkable 90% reduction in fraudulent registrations of Skype Phone Numbers in Japan through the adoption of Verified ID. Moreover, across various sectors, enterprises are enabling employees to verify their employment status with LinkedIn as well as for business-to-business collaboration.

Introducing Face Check with Verified ID: Unlocking high-assurance verifications at scale
Face Check, powered by Azure AI services, introduces a vital level of confidence by comparing a user's live selfie with the photo on their official identity document, like a passport or driver’s license. By disclosing solely the matching outcomes without revealing any sensitive identity details, Face Check enhances user privacy while ensuring organisations can confidently authenticate the identity of the individual making the claim.
