Microsoft recently announced the preview release of Office LTSC (Long-Term Servicing Channel) 2024, a new version of its productivity suite designed for businesses and organisations that need to keep their apps and servers on-premises, for Windows and macOS users. It will be available
later this year.
Office LTSC 2024 offers a range of new features and improvements, including enhanced performance, better security, and improved collaboration capabilities. It also includes updates to popular apps like Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
One of the key benefits of Office LTSC 2024 is its long-term support. Microsoft has committed to providing five years of mainstream support and an additional five years of extended support, ensuring that businesses and organizations can continue to use the software for a decade without having to worry about upgrading or migrating to a new version. It is ideal for organisations using devices that can't be updated for extended periods, that have no internet connectivity, and specialty systems like medical equipment.
Office LTSC 2024 will no longer include Publisher, which is soon to be retired anyway, and also doesn’t include the Teams app.
