Earlier in October, Microsoft launched the new Teams app into General Availability for both Windows and Mac. The goal was to reimgine Teams from the ground up.
Overall, the new Teams app is designed to be smarter, faster and use less memory overall.
The benchmark results from this page show that the new Teams app runs up to two times faster while using 50% less memory. Big advances have also been made in overall reliability, security, and IT management.
Upgrading to the new Teams app is Easy and requires no migration. Users will be upgraded in the coming months. If you want to try it out today there is a toggle in the upper left corner of the existing Teams app.
