As you know Microsoft has a few different co-pilots announced so I thought I’d summarise the common ones so we can all talk about the same terminology. 

 

Copilot aka Bing Chat Enterprise:  Copilot is the new name for Bing Chat and Bing Chat Enterprise, and it's now generally available. For the time being, the names Copilot and Bing Chat Enterprise may be used interchangeably as various parts of the experience transition to the new name. It is an AI chatbot that can help with a series of tasks, such as coding, writing, generating images, answering general questions, and more.   

Eligible users who sign in with Entra ID get commercial data protection (so your data stays within your tenant).  Eligible licenses are Business Standard and Premium, M365 E3, E5, F3, and A3 and A5 for Faculty.  

 

Copilot in Windows: Copilot in Windows is available in the latest version of Windows 11 (Windows 11 2023 Update) 2. It provides AI assistance in virtually every aspect of the workflow across different Microsoft applications.  

 

Copilot for Microsoft 365: Copilot for Microsoft 365 is integrated with Teams, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint, Excel, and other Microsoft 365 apps 3. It provides AI-powered chat with Microsoft Copilot and enterprise-grade security, privacy, and compliance.  

 

Sales Copilot: Microsoft Sales Copilot is a seller experience application that uses Microsoft 365 and Microsoft Teams to automatically capture, access, and register data into any customer relationship management (CRM) system.  

 

Copilot for Service: Microsoft Copilot for Service lets you create agent-facing copilots that boost agent productivity and improve customer satisfaction.  

 

Copilot in Viva: With Copilot, Microsoft Viva takes advantage of next-generation AI to accelerate this new performance equation, where engagement and productivity lead to better business outcomes and success..  

 

Copilot Studio: Copilot Studio offers graphical development environment to build copilots using generative AI, sophisticated dialog creation, plugin capabilities, process automation, and built-in analytics that work with Microsoft conversational AI tools.
