Microsoft have announced a new offering within the SharePoint family, SharePoint Premium.  SharePoint Premium brings AI, automation, and added security to your content experiences, processing, and governance. With SharePoint Premium they will be transitioning the services already released as part of Syntex, including SharePoint Advanced Management, to join the growing family of SharePoint services along with brand new content experiences.

New features include: 

  • Contract expiry alerts

  • Document portal for suppliers, vendors and customers 

  • SharePoint eSignature for routing contracts for signature 

  • Translation for files and videos 

  • Document governance and control 

  • Compare a contract with related contracts using the new AI-driven rules deviation engine 

 

Coming on the first half of 2024 are more features: 

  • Autofill columns  

  • Personal information detection 

  • Multilabel classifier 

  • Redaction  

 

Licensing 

There will be 2 licensing models for SharePoint Premium (which can be used simultaneously) depending on which features you require. 

The features coming from Syntex will be available as a Pay as You Go on top of most M365 plans: 

  • Document processing

  • eSignature 

  • PII detection 

  • Autofill columns 

  • Content assembly 

  • Translation 

  • Image processing 

 

New features will be available as an add-on license on top of M365 plans. 

  • Business Documents app 

  • Documents Hub 

  • Enhanced File viewer 

 

Pricing for these will be announced at General Availability in 2024.
