What is Microsoft Surface Management Portal?
Did you know that Microsoft has a centralized place built into the Microsoft Endpoint Manager, that allows you to self-serve, manage and monitor Intune -Managed Surface Devices all in one place?
From within the Portal, and at Scale, you can:
- See all enrolled Surface devices in your organization.
- Drill down into reports, support requests, and individual devices.
- View warranty data and expiration dates.
- Track warranty and support requests.
- Access Microsoft Surface news and resources.
The single environment allows end-to-end visibility of both Corporate and user owned Surface Devices. In turn the Portal allows you to quickly see any issues before the call hits the help desk.
Insights include support activity, device compliance, and warranty coverage of your Surface Fleet.
Getting Started
Sign into Microsoft Endpoint Manager, select All Services then Surface Management Portal.
Monitor Devices
This will Display insights for all of your Surface Devices
- Devices out of compliance, which could mean users can’t access information requiring Azure AD login.
- Devices that aren’t registered.
- Devices with critically low storage available on disk, a leading indicator of potential user experience issues.
- Devices requiring updates.
- Devices without drive encryption enabled.
- Devices that are currently inactive.
Selecting View Report Allows you to see details on each of the insights categories.
Easily check on the warranty status of your Devices – Check which devices are covered by a current warranty, or devices that can be placed in an optional warranty uplift.
Create and check up on Support Requests – Allows for full visibility on activity and status of each support request.
