Effective 1st December 2025, Microsoft has introduced changes to ensure resellers comply with the Indirect Reseller Program Terms when ordering and managing CSP products. Please note that the following modifications to existing orders (excluding the processing of a commit term auto renewal) will now require Partner of Record (POR) validation:
- Seat count adjustments
- Billing plan changes
- Term modifications
- Partner-to-Partner (P2P) transfers
- Migrations from legacy to new commerce
The MPN ID will need to be correct prior to requesting any change of the types mentioned above. If the system detects a compliance issue, an error message will appear detailing the problem. Error Message codes and resolution information.
To be compliant and avoid disruption of service, indirect resellers must:
- Verify the PLA ID by going to Partner Center > Account Settings > Identifiers > CSP and confirming that the number is a valid PLA ID, not a Partner Global Account (PGA) ID. See screenshots at bottom for example.
- Ensure the PLA ID is linked to an active CSP indirect reseller tenant. If not, the reseller must enroll for CSP indirect reseller authorization.
- Confirm that the CSP tenant's business address is in the same CSP region as the distributor's tenant. If not, you may need to to onboard a new tenant in the correct region.
Additionally, please provide us with your CSP MPN ID so we can update the default ID in our system. For existing subscriptions, you can update the MPN ID directly via our website.
