On September 12, 2025, Microsoft reached an agreement with the European Commission (referred to as Microsoft’s “Commitments”) concerning Microsoft 365 and Teams. As part of these commitments, Microsoft will boost interoperability and data portability resources and introduce various adjustments to licensing, pricing, and discounting practices for Microsoft 365, Office 365, and Microsoft Teams.
These revisions aim to provide greater flexibility, foster open ecosystems, and offer customers more choices to fit their specific requirements. Additional details are available in the partner blog post.
Beginning November 1, 2025, several key changes will be implemented:
- Microsoft will reintroduce Microsoft 365 and Office 365 Enterprise suites with Teams to the general availability lifecycle. This enables all customers to either transition to or purchase subscriptions for these Enterprise suites with Teams.
- To comply with the required price differences between suites with and without Teams, Microsoft will lower the prices for Enterprise and Business suites without Teams, as well as for Microsoft 365 F3 (MF3) without Teams. Additionally, the price for Teams Enterprise standalone will increase.
