FlipX Sensor Series
The new, highly-versatile FlipX sensor series is built on OPTEX's extensive track record of providing outstanding sensing performance for intruder detection applications. Now available from Connect.
The name FlipX comes from the fact that you can rotate the lens within the sensor 180 degrees, and switch it from narrow to wide detection by doing so as needed. The FlipX series also features a wall-blend design and a bright white colour, so it blends into modern indoor environments instead of standing out.
Available in three models, designed to fit all indoor applications from residential to commercial, FlipX offers exceptional performance with Super Multi-Dimensional Analysis (SDMA) logic. It analyses detection patterns and environmental information, preventing false alarms by improving immunity against noise factors such as climate changes and vegetation. Further false alarms are avoided with the human-catch element, which is designed to detect humans but not small animals.
Intruder Detection Sensors and Systems
When a general-purpose mechanical security system is installed, detectors are located inside a building and a monitoring station is notified if an intruder is detected within.
OPTEX recommends increasing the effectiveness of such a system by adding perimeter surveillance outside the building as well.
OPTEX has developed a system of enhanced outdoor surveillance that is capable of forestalling unauthorized entry into a building. By integrating outdoor and indoor surveillance, this system creates a defence line incorporating three warning levels targeting the perimeter of the property, the boundary of the building, and the indoor area.
Vehicle Detection Sensors
State of the art entrance activations and parking systems should be simplistic to operate without compromising on reliability, which is exactly how OPTEX technology performs.
The OPTEX Virtual Loop sensor works like ground loop, without requiring any special tools or inground work to install it. Its easy installation and low maintenance requirement can make a construction period shorter and facility management more efficient.
The sensor can be mounted 500mm from the ground and detects the presence of small or large vehicles, whether stationary or moving, within 5.5m.
Verification Systems
The demand for more efficient and innovative verification systems is rising alongside the growing necessity for modern security systems. With the OPTEX Intelligent Visual Verification Bridge, both demands are met.
This solution links CCTV cameras to a monitored alarm for the purpose of adding visual verification to one’s intruder alarm system. Once connected to the control panel, it can enable indoor and outdoor intrusion sensors and door contacts to be linked with ONVIF cameras or digital video recorders to map the detection or alarm zones to the associated cameras.
This OPTEX device serves as a responsive visual verification solution that allows the operator to visualise events in a few seconds and, if required, to send the pre- and post-event recordings to the key holder or emergency contact for further verification and instructions.
Frequently Asked Questions
What is Advanced Temperature Compensation?
The OPTEX Advanced Temperature Compensation function allows the detector's sensitivity to automatically drop at 40°C or higher, so that the detector can perform more reliably within a wider ambient temperature range. This function can be essential in environments that have higher temperature levels yet need to detect people. Learn which products from OPTEX feature Advanced Temperature Compensation by contacting your local Connect sales team.
What are Double-Layered Detection Patterns?
OPTEX outdoor passive infrared (PIR) detectors use multiple detection pattern technology. This means two double-layered detection patterns (upper and lower) both must be activated to trigger an alarm condition. This method reduces false alarms, particularly those caused by temperature changes, light reflection, and small animals. Contact your local Connect sales team to learn how you can leverage this function offered by OPTEX.
